The Voice (Live Shows) Recaps

Hey guys! We both love The Voice, and we hope you do too! We will be doing reviews of everything that happens on the show, and for Ethan's recaps of previous episodes, go to his blog! We are doing this recap while we are watching the show!
Team Xtina and Blake are going to be performing tonight!

Here is our recap: (We will both be giving opinions on each song) (Ethan already does this in his other blog, so check it out: enthusiastickwokchoy.blogspot.com and check out Lisa's blog: angrylemons.blogspot.com)

Team Xtina
1. Right Through You - Ashley De La Rosa

Ethan: I did not know that Ashley was a rocker. I kinda liked her other side better. It wasn't very good at all. She will not make it to the next round.

Lisa: I can’t really hear her over the music, but at least she looks like she’s having fun! (that’s always a plus, right?) I can’t really judge her because I can’t hear, but I would take “points off” for not really being able to hear her.  She did hit some nice notes. Don’t think either Xtina or America will pick her.

2. Bridge Over Troubled Water - Chris Mann

Ethan: Chris has one of the best classical voices I have heard in a long time. His performance was exceptional. Taking a non-opera song and turning into great opera was a really good choice. I think he is really good, but America doesn't necessarily listen to very much classical/opera now a days. I think that Christina might pick him if he is in danger of being eliminated

Lisa: Chris is second, and he has a very powerful voice. Chris is amazing. This performance definitely showcases all his strong points, and I think this is awesome! I absolutely loved his performance. He is a pure, true singer, and I hope he goes on.

3. What A Wonderful World - Jesse Campbell

Ethan: Jesse is a really good, but I didn't connect until the end. I was super confused about that. I am for sure certain that he will move on.

Lisa: His voice is so amazing. This is what I have been waiting for. Speechless. Jesse is so awesome, even Cee Lo said that if someone from his team didn’t win, he would want Jesse to win! That is so amazing. This is what I have been waiting for. Best for last. AMERICA WILL VOTE HIM THROUGH.

4. Somebody That I Used To Know - Lindsey Pavao

Ethan: First off, this is one of my all time favorite songs, and when I went on iTunes to see what songs were going to be on tonight, and I saw Lindsey, I was ESTATIC! I was literally screaming. Unfortunately when she started singing, I wasn't all too in it. Adam was right, I wanted more power. I have no idea what will happen with voting.

Lisa: I am so excited for her song! I love her voice, and I love this song! I believe it will really showcase her voice if she pulls it off. Wow, after listening to that, I believe that she could have done it better. Her voice was kind of overpowered by the band/ background music. She did sound okay, but it was not her best performance. Kind of disappointing. I’m not really sure whether America or Xtina will save her because this is not her best performance.

5. Stronger/Power - Moses Stone

Ethan: I was really surprised! I actually really really liked it. Even though there were some pitchy moments, I was just thoroughly entertained. I do agree with Blake that this is The Voice which is singing, but I really enjoyed. I think that America will not vote for Moses and neither will Christina.

Lisa: Moses has a ton of energy, and even though he is a rapper, he can sing. He is not the best singer on the show, but he can sing. Moses is bringing it, and I am really impressed! He is not my favorite, but he is awesome! The judges seem to want Moses to do more singing, and I don’t know whether I agree or not. Blake is right when he says that Christina has helped Moses improve with his singing. Whoo! Moses is so awesome, but I don’t think America will save him. Will Christina? Depends on the talent the rest of the night. Right now, I’m not so sure.

6. Find Your Love -  Sera Hill

Ethan: Dang! SO INAPPROPRIATE! NO Further comment, was immediately turned off. I don't think she will make it.

Lisa: Confused about her song choice because James sang this song during the blind auditions. Oh well, she sounds okay. She is using her stage presence really well as always though. Dancers are kind of weird. . . kind of inappropriate. Oh well, she was okay. I don’t think America will vote her through.

Team Blake
1. Misery Business - Charlotte Sometimes

Ethan: Wow. Amazing vocals! I am glad that she used a softer side, and she was good. I think she will move on. If not from America but from Blake.

Lisa: She is sticking to her voice, and I like it. I am really happy about her performance because tonight I have been slightly disappointed, but Charlotte was really good. She wasn’t pitch perfect, as the lovely Adam Levine stated, but I don’t think that she was off for very long and I don’t think she was very off. I hope next Monday is better! I think that America will vote her through.

2. Living for the City - Erin Willett

Ethan: I thought Erin was good but she wasn't The Voice. I somewhat enjoyed it though. I don't think she will make it to the next round.

Lisa: Hey! I didn’t know she could play the piano! Her voice is strong as always, and I think America will vote her through because she sounds good, and also because her father just passed away. Blake will also save her if he has to, I believe.

3. Livin' On a Prayer - Jermaine Paul

Ethan: I was also very confused with Christina. Jermaine is bouncing all over the places with his genres! Dia Frampton did this as well, but she made it her own, Jermaine adapts to the genre he goes to. I personally think that Jermaine will not win America's vote, but possibly the coach's vote if they have it this year.

Lisa: Woohoo! Jermaine is up first, and he sounds good, but he has had better performances. Not sure if this song gives his voice justice. Of course, this is live, so it is more nerve racking for him. The judges have mixed opinions. Christina believes that there is not a connection with the song, but he made it his own. Blake tells Jermaine to enjoy his experiences, and he does not agree with Xtina. Right now, since he is first, I am not sure if Jermaine will make it through.

4. Alone - Jordis Unga

Ethan: I really do feel like Jordis had a lot to prove to America because she botched her battle. I am mixed about the performance, I still didn't feel like it was her best. I have no idea what the voting will go like.

Lisa: She has a powerful voice, and this was a solid performance. She’s hitting some hard notes. Jordis was really good. Blake liked it, and I believe that he might save her if he needs to. I think America will keep her safe.

5. Turning Tables - Naia Kete

Ethan: I was so excited to see that Naia was singing Turning Tables. The thing that made me really surprised and mad was Blake's decision for no reggae! I always compared Naia to Dia and Blake never messed with Dia or diverted her from her style. Never the less, Naia was amazing. She sang so well even with out the reggae. I do not think Blake will save Naia and America won't either.

Lisa: I like her voice in this song. Her style doesn’t shine through as much as it would in another song, but I still think her performance was okay. She could have done better, of course. I believe that Blake will pick her if she does not go home because I think Blake really favors Naia. I think Blake is going to keep Naia, but I’m not sure about America.

6. Wake Up Call - RaeLynn

Ethan: Wow! Turning a rock song into a country song was such a risk! I don't really know if it paid off. I was defintely on the edge of my chair due to the fact of RaeLynn's stomping. It was a fair performance, but I don't think she will get Blake's or America's vote.

Lisa: I’m not so sure about this song choice for Raelynn. She is changing a Maroon 5 song into country, which I think is strange. I do, however, love how confident Raelynn is on that stage. She may not be the best vocally, but she does have style and presence. Adam is pleased, and so is Blake. I’m not sure whether Raelynn will be voted through, simply because even though she is not the best vocally, she is cute and young and that can win her votes from America.

Today's funny joke comes from The Hunger Games! Btw, it has a spoiler, so if you haven't read it don't read this!
Ethan: Where's Finnick? Odair he is!
Lisa: FINNICK IS DEAD! HE WAS MY FAVORITE!
Ethan: Okay, where is Finnick? Look, it's a grave! Odair he is!
